We have lift off. I’ve been through a particularly frustrating season with respect to design. I can’t believe it but looking back at it, it’s lasted several months!
I’d been working with a particular designer but our schedules wouldn’t align. He is very talented, so I hung on for as long as I could. However in hindsight, I wasted a lot of time hoping someone would come through for me. It’s been a crucial lesson for me – how long do you wait on someone else when starting a business?
It’s really difficult when your progress is tied to someone else’s proactivity, productivity – or lack thereof. The great thing is that this highly frustrating experience has pushed me to be more creative and experiment with different options when it comes to design.
Our second baby is due in just over a month’s time, my biggest upcoming challenge will be to keep up some sort of momentum and consistency with the development of the range, while navigating my new world of both a toddler and a newborn. We’ll see how that goes.
